A wet and windy night in Slimbridge saw an entertaining encounter between two of the better clubs in the league. Both teams tried to play football in bluster conditions, but Corsham came out on top.

Slimbridge started the better team, but Corsham defended well, the home side’s best chance coming from a scramble in the box which they failed to put away.

Corsham grew into the game and chances started to come their way. James Rusby shot from range but was high and wide and Plumber had a shot on target deflected for a corner. Shaq was looking good and his cross was scooped over the bar from Demkiv.

The deadlock was broken in first-half stoppage time when Shaq Smith was fouled right on the line of the Slimbridge box, and after the referee consulted with his linesman the spot kick was awarded. Neikel Plummer stepped up to put Corsham ahead at the break. 

Corsham doubled their lead on 60 minutes with a trademark Rusby long throw which was headed home by, yes you know who, Dan Price, again! The home side looked dead and buried and their keeper had to be in fine form to keep out Plumber on at least two occasions.

Against the run of play the hosts pulled a goal back, and it was game on for the last 20 minutes and Slimbridge pressed for the equaliser.

With only a few minutes remaining Kane Simpson scored a wonder goal which appeared to have tied up the points for the Reds but there was more drama to come.

With 90 minutes on the clock, Alfie Kelsey floored the Slimbridge forward in the box for the second penalty of the match. But he redeemed himself from the spot kick and blocked well, allowing Corsham to celebrate yet another victory.
